These storms developed in a complex surface pattern across the Upper Midwest as a pre-frontal surface trough, dry line and cold front all passed through the area. A small tornado touched down north of Floyd (Floyd County) and quarter sized hail fell in St. Ansgar (Mitchell County), otherwise, the storms passed through without producing much severe weather.
Event Narrative A small tornado briefly touched down north of Floyd.
