See Free Access for more information. - 15-minute precipitation data (reported 4 times per hour, if precip occurs) for U.S. stations along with selected non-U.S. stations in U.S. territories. - Over 3400 stations in the historical database. - Data for 1971 to present for some stations. - Includes major city and many small town locations. - Daily total precipitation is included as part of the data record; however, for final official daily totals, we recommend the "Surface Data, Daily." - Note: we recommend the delimited format (option of space or comma-delimited), unless you have software requiring the variable or fixed length format. |

- Products are free of charge to all users. - Most products can be created from monthly or daily data - Daily data are limited to the fifty United States. Appox. 12000 precipitation stations of which about 8000 have temperature data. The stations have varying periods of record. Latest data are DEC 2001 - Monthly data contains the contiguous U.S. plus Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin IS. and Pacific Territories. Appox. 8000 precipitation stations of which about 5500 have temperature data. The stations have a fixed 1971 - 2000 period of record. |

- Data are free of charge to all users. - Derived from global integrated surface data (hourly and synoptic data). - Over 9000 stations are typically available for recent years. - Data for 1929 to present for some stations. - Includes many airport and some additional city locations worldwide. - Various daily summary elements such temperature (mean, max, min), dew point, wind speed (mean, max, peak gust), pressure, visibility, precipitation, snow depth, etc. - Updated daily within 1-2 days after the date of the observations used in the daily summary. |
