Dye 3 Ice Core Data Readme |
|
Copenhagen 860124.
These files contain delta o18 data versus depth for the Dye-3 core in South Greenland. The data are arranged in 5 columns, each columnn containing the depth of the bottom of the sample. The next number is the delta value, calculated as the mean value of all samples between this depth, and the previous depth (towards the surface). The delta values are not corrected for, e.g., topographical isotope effects upstream. When using these data, please refer to : W. Dansgaard and others. 1985. Dating and climatic interpretation of two deep Greenland ice cores. Greenland Ice Core: Geophysics, Geochemistry, and the Environment. Edited by C.C. Langway. Jr. H. Oeschger, and W.Dansgaard. Washington D.C., American Geophysical Union. (Geophysical Monograph 33:71-76. Note that all depths are measured along the core according to the main core log. For conversion to vertical depths, see: Gundestrup, N.S. and Hansen, B.L. 1984. Bore-hole survey at Dye-3, South Greenland. Journal of Glaciology, Vol 30, No. 106, 282-288.
