To synthesize the vast array of observational data, twelve regions
were defined by the CAPE steering committee. Each of these regions
were then divided into the terrestrial and marine realms for ease
of data synthesis.
At the Lammi meeting, several maps were created which compare
the observed paleodata with GCM simulations. Several maps, one
for each 1000-year timeslice of the Holocene were generated which
plot the temperature and biome comparisons with the present. These
maps were the major contribution of the CAPE meeting in Lammi.
Maps of the marine reconstructions, based upon planktonic foraminiferal assemblages, benthic temperatures, and benthic assemblages, have just been added. Please take some time to peruse THE MAPS.
