Episode Narrative Strong southerly winds developed ahead of a cold front and caused low level shear to increase across the area. This low level shear aided in the development of a couple of tornadoes.
Event Narrative The tornado first touched down near Avera Baptist Church on Pleasant Valley Road. This was where most of the damage was observed. The front part of the church roof was torn off. The tornado then moved east northeast damaging trees and causing roof damage along Pleasant Valley Road. The tornado crossed State Highway 63 causing roof damage to a few homes. The tornado continued east northeast over open countryside downing trees along its path. The tornado lifted back into the clouds near Indian Hill Road.
