January-October Record Setters

The stations shown on the map below had one of their three warmest, coolest, wettest or driest January through October on record. Stations with a bold white circle saw values that exceed any previous Jan-Oct value at the station's current location. The smaller circles indicate year-to-date outcomes that were 2nd or 3rd place among a station's history.

Please note: in order to avoid many overlapping or crowded dots in a region, a subset of only about 200 stations across the United States were considered. There are many stations having "top three" or "bottom three" years that are not depicted here. The stations under consideration are listed in other supplemental pages (temperature, precipitation).
