For May, 4,682 fires (3rd least since 2000) burned 326,644 acres (8th most on record), which is 69.8 acres burned/fire (5th most on record). For March - May, 51,559 fires (most since 2000) burned 2,621,295 acres (2nd most on record), which is 50.8 acres burned/fire (5th most on record). For January - May, 57,585 fires (most since 2000) burned 2,763,464 acres (2nd most on record), which is 48.0 acres burned/fire (5th most on record).
