Supplemental Monthly Temperature Normals

The PDF forms accessible below provide multiple estimates of monthly temperature normals using different definitions of "normal." Traditionally, NOAA defines a climate "normal" as a 30-year average. However, NOAA recognizes that alternative ways of defining "normal" may work better than the 30-year average given observed global warming. We provide these additional computations to help users make better-informed decisions. NOAA recommends that users consider the range of estimates (provided by the seven different definitions) in their specific applications.
