| Episode Narrative |
A week long period of unsettled weather across Deep South Texas and the Lower Rio Grande Valley between May 11th and May 17th not only brought scattered severe thunderstorms to the region, but also periods of light to moderate rain which put a brief, but notable, dent into the drought in some areas. Unfortunately, a return to dry and hot weather toward the end of the month would largely erase the relief brought by the unsettled conditions. |
| Event Narrative |
Scattered showers and thunderstorms pushing across western Brooks County between May 14th and 17th would relieve drought conditions a shade, with values dropping to Severe (D2) across the entire county by the 20th. Unfortunately, dry and hot weather returning to close the month would bring conditions back to extreme in western portions of the county. |
