| Episode Narrative | Strong winds and bitterly cold air combined to bring the lowest wind chill readings of the winter to northeastern Minnesota during the weekend of February 9-10. Wind chill values of -40 to -55 degrees Fahrenheit were common Saturday night and Sunday morning. Bitterly cold wind chills continued into Monday morning, the 11th, in the Arrowhead region. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph were widespread across the Northland on the evening of the 9th. The lowest wind chill readings of the event occurred Sunday morning, the 10th, when Grand Marais dropped to -58, International Falls to -51, Hibbing and Grand Rapids to -49, and Duluth registered |-48. |
