Episode Narrative A potent low pressure system moved out of the Southern Rockies early on the 1st, and then trekked into the Central Great Plains by midday, and then into eastern Iowa by the late evening hours. Some snowfall totals of note include: Stanley, (6.6 inches), ten miles North of Bruce, (6.5 inches), three miles Southwest of Eau Claire, (6.3 inches), Haugen, (6.0 inches), Bloomer, (6.0 inches), Menomonie, (6.0 inches), Cumberland, (5.5 inches), and Eau Claire, (5.3 inches). The snow was accompanied by sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph, causing considerable blowing and drifting.
