| Episode Narrative | Southwest flow and moisture overran arctic air near the surface. Sleet developed by late morning and quickly changed to freezing rain while temperatures held steady in the mid 20s. All of southern Indiana experienced icing amounts between 1/4 to just over 1/2 inch. A couple of our northern counties experienced up to an inch of sleet prior to changeover. Most public schools closed early. Many accidents were reported and side roads became nearly impassable. |
