Lightning from thunderstorms also caused damage to a power substation in the northern part of the county. |

Lightning struck a transmission and distributing line near the intersection of F.M. 2143 and Highway 172. Eight spans of primary wire were destroyed along with insulators. Puncture holes in the cooling fans also occurred. Power was knocked out to the Olivia and Port Alto communities. |
