| Episode Narrative | Below normal rainfall during the month of August, re-intensified from severe drought(D2) conditions over much of West Tennessee to extreme drought conditions(D3). In addition, locations near the Tennessee River, the drought conditions re-intensified from an extreme(D3) to exceptional(D4). |
| Event Narrative | A severe drought(D2)re-intensified to an extreme drought(D3) over much of West Tennessee during August. For areas near the Tennessee River, the drought re-intensified from extreme(D3) to exceptional(D4). Rainfall amounts for August ranged from a quarter of an inch to about 2 inches below normal, which brought the yearly deficit to around 16 to 20 inches below normal. The drought impacted agricultural and hydrological interests. Burn bans were also put into effect across West Tennessee. |
