Episode Narrative A slow moving cold front provided the lift mechanism needed for strong thunderstorms, heavy rain and flooding.
Event Narrative Water covered Highway 22 on north side of St. Peter. Near St. Peter, some township roads were washed out. Street flooding was noted in North Mankato, where some cars were stranded. A spotter eight miles north of Nicollet recorded 5.07 inches, and the cooperative observer in St. Peter registered 3.77 inches for the 24 hour period ending at 0600 CST August 19.
