Thunderstorms formed the afternoon of the 23rd. Some of these storms reached severe levels producing penny size hail. |

A severe thunderstorm produced pea to penny size hail. The hail accumulated to an inch in depth, and stripped the leaves off trees. Leaves from two acres of tobacco were also completely stripped from |the stalk. |
