| Episode Narrative |
The monsoon moisture in place at the end of July carried over into August, producing widespread showers and thunderstorms across Utah. The heaviest rain fell over southern Utah, where a few different flash floods were observed on August 1st. |
| Event Narrative |
Flash flooding occurred along La Verkin Creek on the evening of August 1st, with significant rises in the water level. At the same time, a 2-year-old girl was noticed missing from her home in the city of La Verkin, which was close to the creek. The girl passed away when she drowned in the Creek, and her body was found a couple hours after she had been reported missing. |
