Isolated showers and thunderstorms across the region, dropped significant rain across small areas of the region, which helped to alleviate drought conditions slightly across portions of the Rio Grande Valley and Deep South Texas. Portions of Jim Hogg County received 4 to 6 inches of rainfall on July 13th, although this did little to alleviate drought conditions in the county. Despite the rainfall, there was little improvement to overall drought conditions. |

Despite spotty showers, little change occurred to drought conditions in Brooks County during July. during the first half of July across Brooks County. Severe (D2) Drought conditions persisted across all but the northern sliver of the County through the month; locations along State Highway 285 held in Extreme (D3) Drought. |
