An upper level disturbance interacted with a nearly stationary front, which triggered a cluster of severe thunderstorms near the Minnesota Iowa border. Before the storms moved into northeast Iowa, storm spotters, amateur radio operators and law enforcement officials reported hail ranging in size from pennies to golf balls. |
