Episode Narrative Thunderstorms began to develop along the higher terrain of central and western Montana, and moved into the area. The threat of severe weather was enhanced later in the afternoon as the cap weakened and a shortwave trough brought enough height falls to enhance convective potential in the region.
Event Narrative A trained spotter reported quarter sized hail 9 miles north-northwest of Marsh in Dawson County.
