| Episode Narrative |
An upper-level low sagging down the Pacific Northwest Coastline was responsible for drawing moist, unstable air northward into Southeastern Washington. Shortwave energy ejecting from the low in conjunction with afternoon heating triggered strong thunderstorms over Idaho Panhandle which tracked west into the Washington Palouse during the late evening hours of the 16th. The thunderstorms produced large hail and damaging outflow winds which toppled trees in city of Rosalia. |
