| Episode Narrative | A destructive round of severe thunderstorms initiated over the western portions of the west Texas South Plains during the evening hours of the 1st. These storms produced winds measuring up to 74 mph near Levelland (Hockley County) and resulted in structural damage that left four families homeless. In addition, wind-blown hail damaged thousands of acres of cotton over portions of Hockley and Terry Counties. No injuries were reported, but damage estimates exceeded $600,000. |
