| Episode Narrative |
A weak tropical wave stalled over portions of southeast Alabama, and convection flared up during the early morning hours of August 7th. Very heavy rainfall amounts led to flash flooding across the area. |
| Event Narrative |
Significant flash flooding occurred around Enterprise extending eastward to the Coffee/Dale county border on Highway 27. Water was rushing across Highway 27 along the county border, and radar estimated that over 7 inches of rain had fallen in just a few hours in this area. In Enterprise, some rescue operations were conducted for people trapped in houses and vehicles. Houses were surrounded by water in Gateway Estates. Some road closures included Dixie Dr between Cherokee and Lester, as well as Highway 27 near Lakeview Dr in the vicinity of the Enterprise Country Club. Water also covered the roadway on W College St. Monetary damage was estimated. |
