An upper level low pressure area off the Oregon coast, combined with daytime heating and a moist southerly flow to produce a line of locally severe thunderstorms across Walla Walla and Columbia counties. Strong winds associated with the thunderstorms blew an eastbound motorcyclist into oncoming traffic on Highway 12, six miles west northwest of Touchet near the intersection of Byrnes Road and Nine Mile Road. The motorcyclist was killed. |
