| Episode Narrative |
Upslope flow impinging on an outflow boundary served to focus scattered thunderstorm development late in the afternoon of the 30th, mainly in Garza, Kent and Stonewall Counties. Ample wind shear and strong instability led to some of these storms becoming supercells accompanied by very large hail. The most prolific of these storms was a splitting supercell near Post that produced baseball size hail north of town. This supercell created two left-moving supercells; both of which traveled nearly 90 miles northeast into the northern Rolling Plains while dropping hail up to baseball size. Late in the evening, severe storms in the southeast Texas Panhandle grazed northern Childress County with large hail. Also, very beneficial rains in excess of one inch fell mainly over eastern Garza and western Kent Counties during the evening where Lake Alan Henry recorded heavy rains for a third consecutive day. |
| Event Narrative |
The public estimated quarter size hail along the Crosby-Garza County line. No damage was reported. |
