Episode Narrative A weak disturbance moved across the Lower Ohio Valley during the afternoon of March 15th. Near record high temperatures, combined with dewpoints near 60, lead to very strong instability during the afternoon. Despite weak wind shear in this early summer-like environment, numerous strong to severe storms developed during the late afternoon and early evening. Some of the stronger storms produced marginally severe hail and isolated damaging wind gusts.
