| Episode Narrative | Even as ENSO conditions changed from La Nina to neutral, rainfall remained below normal over most of South Central Texas and the 2011 Drought continued with little change. |
| Event Narrative | The drought continued over South Central Texas and worsened in some counties despite indications that ENSO neutral conditions developed across the equatorial Pacific Ocean. Most of the area remained in exceptional drought conditions (Stage D4), and lack of rain this month moved Atascosa, Burnet, Dimmit, Karnes, Kinney, Llano, Val Verde, Wilson, and Zavala counties into this stage. Only De Witt and Lavaca counties remain in extreme drought conditions (Stage D3). Fire danger in South Central Texas was moderate to high and burn bans continued for all of the counties. The Texas A&M agricultural program report indicated ranchers provided supplemental feeding for livestock. Many stock tanks remained extremely low and some were in danger of drying up. At the end of the month the seven day stream flow average remained in the below or much below normal range for basins across South Central Texas and the Rio Grande Plains. The Rio Grande was in normal stream flow. Area lakes and reservoirs remained below normal pool elevations with Lake Travis nearly 35 feet below normal and Medina Lake around 30 feet below. The Edwards Aquifer was 18.4 below normal and 28.4 feet below the level from one year ago. The City of Kerrville remained in Stage 3 water restrictions, the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) and City of San Marcos in Stage 2, and the City of Austin in Stage 1. Many other communities across South Central Texas continued with some level of water restrictions. |
