| Episode Narrative |
Major impacts from Missouri River flooding continued into early August, with flooding varying from minor to major, and evacuated areas remaining evacuated. The water levels receded very slowly during the month, and effects of the flooding began to abate, also very slowly. However in many places, extent of the damage to homes, businesses, parks, recreation areas, and other lowlands was beginning to become evident. Highest river levels were very early in August; in most cases on the first day of the month. |
| Event Narrative |
Flooding from upstream spring snowmelt and subsequent heavy rain continued at major levels at the start of August, with lowlands along the river including several roads and recreational areas remaining flooded. The river fell slowly during the month, falling below flood stage at Chamberlain on August 22nd. The highest stage at Chamberlain was 5.5 feet above flood stage on August 1st. |
