| Episode Narrative | Hot and very humid conditions produced dangerous heat during this period, mainly across northwest and north central Alabama. Overnight lows were in the mid to upper 70s at most locations, including a low of 80 at the University of Alabama in Huntsville on the morning of the 12th. High temperatures reached the upper 90s to around 100. Heat index values of 105 to 111 were observed. At least two fatalities have been blamed during this heat wave. |
