Episode Narrative Steep lapse rates and moderate elevated instability developed during the early morning of the 15th north of a surface warm front stretched from northeast Montana through western North Dakota and into South Dakota. An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm developed and tracked southeast along this boundary from near McKenzie County to near Bismarck before dissipating. Several severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for this storm.
