| Episode Narrative | The heat and humidity levels peaked from Wednesday the 20th into Saturday the 23rd. High temperatures in the low and mid 90s were common. Overnight low temperatures only dropped into the low and mid 70s for a few hours near dawn. Dew points peaked mostly in the mid and upper 70s. However, Huntington observed an 81 dew point during the evening on the 21st. The heat index or apparent temperature reached into the 104 to 109 degree range. Scattered thunderstorms late on the 22nd and on the 23rd helped to dampen the heat for the 24th and 25th, but humidity levels remained high. |
