Episode Narrative During the predawn hours of May 23 an MCS moved in from the west and pushed across the region. Additionally, convection fired ahead of the MCS in the moist atmosphere with the storms being fueled by a 50 kt. LLJ. After a break in storms during the late morning and early afternoon, the atmosphere was able to recover to become unstable once again. Scattered storms were able to redevelop. These storms produced damaging winds, hail, and some isolated flooding.
Event Narrative A trained spotter reported gusts to 60 mph.
