Episode Narrative The southern and central portions of the Idaho Panhandle was under an unstable and active weather pattern as a cold upper level trough approached from the west and warm, moist air streamed across the area from the southwest. Solar heating through the late afternoon hours was enough for air parcels to break through the capping inversion with scattered convection firing up through the evening hours.
Event Narrative A severe thunderstorm moved across eastern Nez Peerce County during the late afternoon hours. This storm dropped several one inch hail stones mixed in with marble and pea-sized hail.
