Episode Narrative Slow-moving thunderstorms produced extremely heavy rainfall of 4-6 inches across portions of northeast Colorado, southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas during the evening and overnight hours. Some roads were washed out and a few creeks were out of their banks.
Event Narrative Strong straight-line winds peeled back much of the shingles and tarpaper on the second story roof of a home in Benkelman. Elsewhere in town, an 18-wheeler trailer was blown over on its side.
