| Episode Narrative | As surface temperatures remained at or close to freezing during the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday, December 15th, and with an upper level disturbances passing across Middle Tennessee during this time period also, there was enough moisture across the mid state to ultimately produce scattered areas of ice accumulation. This resulted in a significant impact to commerce and transportation during the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday, December 15th and throughout Thursday, December 16th. |
| Event Narrative | One eighth of an inch of ice accumulation was reported on exposed metal objects and roads were ice covered in Lawrenceburg. Heavy freezing rain was reported to be still occurring at the time of this report. This total ice accumulation resulted in public and some private primary, secondary, and higher education school closures across Lawrenceburg and the surrounding areas on Thursday, December 16th, along with closures or postponement of other civic engagements across this area during the late afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday, December 15th, and throughout Thursday, December 16th, as travel across roads throughout this area became hazardous due to the ice accumulations on them. |
