Episode Narrative A warm front from South Dakota to western Missouri moved east on December 15-16, 2010 producing several inches of snow across eastern Iowa and western Illinois. A strong baroclinic zone associated with the front produced strong warm air advection which led to several bands of heavier snow. Snowfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches were common with the highest amount of 6 inches reported at Muscatine, Iowa. The National Weather Service Forecast Office at the Davenport Municipal Airport measured 5.9 inches of snow.
