Episode Narrative The drought conditions from the summer persisted into October across far northwest Wisconsin. The northwest corner of Douglas and far northern Burnett counties were in the D3(extreme) drought category, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. D2 (severe) drought conditions remained in Bayfield, Burnett, and northern Washburn counties. Precipitation totals were slim for the month, averaging 0.5 to 1.5 inches below normal according to the Midwest Regional Climate Center.
