| Episode Narrative | A series of weak storm systems that combined with ample moisture across the Upper Midwest, produced a large area of 6 to 12 inch snowfall amounts across west central, to south central Minnesota from late Sunday afternoon January 30th, to Monday evening January 31st. Although most of the snowfall was light with average snowfall rates around 1 to 2 inches every 6 hours, there were a few heavier bands that developed across south central Minnesota that caused isolated amounts near a foot before the system weakened Monday evening. |
