| Episode Narrative | A combination of freezing rain and freezing drizzle created very icy conditions across northeast Iowa on the day before Thanksgiving. All the reported ice accumulations were a few hundredths of an inch. Roads became completely ice covered which resulted in numerous accidents, early school dismissals and the Mitchell County Sheriff not recommending travel in the county. The icy conditions were the result of warm air aloft being drawn into the region ahead of an area of low pressure that tracked from the central Rocky Mountains northeast through North Dakota. |
