| Episode Narrative |
Below normal rainfall continued through the month of October across much of North Mississippi. The lack of rainfall expanded severe (D2) drought conditions from Northwest Mississippi to portions of North Central Mississippi. The biggest impact from the drought was on agriculture as many crops suffered due to the lack of rainfall. Many pastures were in poor condition forcing farmers to feed livestock with baled hay. Hydrological concerns continued to be an issue as many lake and river levels dropped to low levels. Lack of moisture in the ground also caused several pipes to burst in the region. Burn bans were issued for most of North Mississippi. |
