Episode Narrative Low pressure in the central plains had a warm front draped across southern Iowa and into western Illinois on October 23, 2010. A strengthening low level jet and moist axis impinging on the front triggered a few thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening. One thunderstorm near Hamilton in Hancock County produced pea to nickel size hail.
Event Narrative Trained spotter reported pea to nickel size hail just east of Hamilton.
