Episode Narrative The very dry conditions continued across the parishes of northeast Louisiana through the month of July. While several of the parishes were already experiencing extreme drought (D3) when July started, the D3 area actually expanded more as July moved along. Normal rainfall across this area for July is 3 to 4 inches. Only 1 to 2 inches actually fell during the month. Crops continued to be put under stress from the dry and hot conditions. The likely impact will be less crop yields when harvest arrives in early Fall.
Event Narrative Rainfall was 1 to 3 inches below normal for the month with the parish seeing severe (D2) drought conditions.
