| Episode Narrative |
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms developed ahead of a surface cold front that was being driven across the western Great Lakes region by the southern end of an upper tough. The front moved into a moist, unstable air mass over southern Wisconsin, with mixed layer CAPE values of 1000 J/kg to 1500 J/kg. Though overall wind shear was marginal...there was sufficient shear to allow a thunderstorm near Cambria in Columbia County to become tornadic. |
