An upper level trough to the west over Wyoming and northern Colorado, in combination with an unstable environment over the area, lead to the formation of severe thunderstorms. The thunderstorms initially formed in Wyoming and progressed eastward into the Panhandle. The primary threat for these storms was hail and damaging winds. |
