| Episode Narrative | A deep area of low pressure moved from the Oklahoma panhandle on the evening of the 28th, to far northeastern Iowa on the evening of March 1st. The storm moved across southern Wisconsin during the morning hours of the 2nd. Some heavy snow totals of note include: 14.8 inches at Menonomonie (Dunn County), 13.5 inches two miles south of Rice Lake (Barron County), 13.0 inches four miles east-northeast of River Falls (St. Croix County), 12.0 inches at Connorsville (Dunn County), 11.5 inches at Barron (Barron County), and 10.3 inches at Eau Claire (Eau Claire County). Northerly winds in the 15 to 20 mph range, along with gusts to 25 mph, produced blowing and drifting snow. Many roads were closed or impassable, and dozens of schools closed. |
