| Episode Narrative |
A surface low pressure developed over eastern Colorado and western Kansas by the early afternoon. The resulting moisture flow up the terrain, combined with surface heating, caused thunderstorms to form over the mountains during the early afternoon. With a low pressure system situated over the Southwest, the environment was suitable for supercell thunderstorms to develop. Due to previous amounts of large rainfall over parts of the area flash flooding occurred. |
