Episode Narrative Lake effect snow developed as arctic air swept over Lake Michigan on north northwest winds. Heavy snow showers resulted in localized accumulations of 12 to 18 inches across western portions of Van Buren, Allegan, Mason, Oceana and northern Muskegon counties. Little snow fell roughly 30 miles and further east of the lakeshore.
Event Narrative Snowfall amounts of twelve to sixteen inches were reported across the western half of Van Buren county. Over fifteen inches of snow was reported one mile northwest of Bangor.
