| Episode Narrative | A low pressure center moved eastward across central Illinois and Indiana, bringing one to two inches of snow to western Kentucky. Amounts varied from about one-half inch along the Tennessee border to two inches along the Ohio River. Most schools were cancelled. A number of accidents occurred. The Owensboro Police Department responded to 15 traffic accidents, none with serious injuries. A vehicle overturned on Kentucky 902 near Fredonia (Caldwell County), and a car snapped a utility pole elsewhere in Caldwell County. No one was injured in either wreck. Very cold temperatures in the wake of the cold front preserved the snow cover for several days. Minor blowing and drifting snow occurred, especially in the hours after the snow ended. |
