|Episode Narrative||Tropical Depression 23W developed about 400 miles east-southeast of Guam on the morning of October 26th, and intensified into Tropical Storm Mirinae late that evening. Moving steadily west-northwest toward the Marianas, Tropical Storm Mirinae passed about 15 miles north-northeast of Rota about 1000 GST on the 28th with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.
In the Marianas, the only island significantly affected was Rota, where tropical storm conditions were experienced during the morning and early afternoon of the 27th. The automated observing station on Rota reported a maximum sustained wind of 36 mph from the northwest at 2251 GST, and the peak gust was from the south at 64 mph in the hour ending at 1251 GST. The minimum sea-level pressure was 995.5 mb at 1051 GST, and 3.38 inches of rain was recorded between 0400 and 1400 GST.
No injuries or property damage were reported on Rota.
