| Episode Narrative | According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, the temporary reprieve from extreme (D3) drought conditions came to an end in mid September, when D3 drought conditions redeveloped across Washburn, Sawyer, and most of Burnett counties. The remainder of northwest Wisconsin was in severe (D2) drought status, except for the northeastern half of Douglas County, which was in moderate drought status. Precipitation for September was 2.5 to 3.5 inches below normal in northwest Wisconsin. |
